Louise A. Mauffette-Leenders

Louise was a case writer and research associate at the Ivey Business School, Canada, for eight years. As partner of Leenders and Associates Inc., she continues to teach educators from various countries on how to use the case method.

Biography

Together, Mike and Louise have taught more than 40 case method workshops in North and South America, Europe and Asia and co-authored three case method textbooks: Learning with Cases, Teaching with Cases and Writing Cases. In 2012 for their outstanding contribution to the case method they received an award from The Case Centre.

Program

The two-day participative workshop covers the key elements of the case method. It explains the essentials of how students learn, how teachers prepare and how case writers write good cases fast.

Day 1: Case writing

The first day focuses on helping participants teach effectively using cases.

Day 2: Case teaching

Cancellations must be confirmed in writing (ONLY email is accepted). If we receive notice of your withdrawal before 19 August 2019, a cancellation fee of 150,00 USD for administrative costs will be charged. Thereafter, we regret that we are unable to refund any fees.

About AAPBS

Founded in 2004, the Association of Asia-Pacific Business Schools (AAPBS) is a non-profit organization that brings together over 130 member institutions in 30 regions/countries. The primary purpose of the Association is to provide leadership and representation to advance the quality of business and management education in the Asia-Pacific region. AAPBS helps its members exchange ideas, knowledge and know-hows through annual meetings and conferences.

The AAPBS Case Center, established in 2012, is an initiative by the AAPBS members and for the members. It serves as a centralized resource to enhance case teaching and case writing for AAPBS member schools and their faculty. The goal of the AAPBS Case Center is to encourage and promote the development of quality Asia-Pacific case studies among AAPBS member schools, with the notion of "Asian cases, by Asians, for Asians".

Over the past decade, the AAPBS Case Center organized flagship case workshops in prominent locations over the world, including Japan, South Korea, the Philippines, and China. In 2018, an unprecedented workshop featuring case research methods was co-hosted by the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) Business School together with the Hong Kong Baptist University School of Business at the HKUST campus in Hong Kong.

Through organizing workshops on case teaching, writing and research, AAPBS Case Center actively promotes the development and use of case studies, and enhances the quality of case teaching and writing.
